KOH-I-NOOR Magic Coloured Pencils

A proprietary blend of oils, binders, and premium pigments are used in every line of Koh-I-Noor coloured pencils. The result is an ultra-smooth lead that allows for rich colour and laydown without a waxy bloom or wax build up that prevents layering. Koh-I-Noor  uses California cedar for all of their artist-grade coloured pencils. California cedar is not only a renewable resource, but is regarded as the best wood for pencils because it doesn't warp. Each core is perfectly centered in its casing for even sharpening, and glued throughout to prevent breakage. Our woodless pencils have a solid color core encased in lacquer, and offers the artist maximum color laydown. All of their pencils come pre-sharpened.

A childhood favorite, the Magic pencil was the first multi-coloured pencil with braided leads of bright, contrasting colours.  With every stroke the unique mosaic lead puts down a kaleidoscope of colour. The Magic pencils are big and chunky and boast a 5.6mm lead.

These special coloured pencils draw a multi-coloured line, consisting of several shades. The composite lead automatically shades the drawn line without the necessity of rotating the pencil around its axis. Already a small shift in the drawing angle will change the diversity of colours. To achieve a shading effect you just need to use one drawing instrument and shift the angle of its tip to get the desired effect. The lead allows a smooth transition from one shade to another within one drawing line, thus creating a 3D impression.
