Pastelmat^® offers pastel artists new opportunities with a unique surface that grabs pastels more effectively than Ingres papers but is less abrasive then sanded papers, breaking up the pigment and pulls it deep into the surface for exceptionally vibrant color and the velvety surface is suitable for fine line artwork..Clairefontaine Pastelmat paper brings exceptional possibilities to soft pastel artists. The pastel adheres so well to Pastelmat paper, that fixative is not needed between layers. Many Layers can be applied without saturation the tooth.

 The paper can be used for wet or dry techniques, and may even be used with alcohol. The thickness of the paper is 360g/m.
